Novartis's Shanning (Acetate Octreotide), an artificially synthesized derivative of octopropides of natural growth inhibitor, retains a pharmacological effect similar to that of growth inhibitor and has a long-lasting effect. In addition, acetic acid octreotide is about 50% effective against gastric prophylaxis/Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (usually in combination with proton pump inhibitors or H2 receptor blockers), insulin tumors (preoperative prevention of hypoglycemia and maintenance of normal blood sugar), growth hormone release factor tumors.
